A new ADU in the heart of Venice, the ADU sits on the site of a previous pool house structure. Its compact footprint belies an efficient programming over two stories with balcony and a roof terrace.

An exposed central stringer stair provides access to the roof, cantilevering from the building’s corner, and extensive glazing is allowed for by a two-story moment frame and optimized shear wall arrangements.

The floor framing depths were limited to achieve generous headroom at both stories, whilst cantilevering the second floor adjacent to the alley.
